Good Charlotte and Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley by Nathan Zucker

Memorable Moments

The four days brought a total of 115 bands. On Thursday, Blink-182 delivered a nostalgia-driven set, featuring special guest Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio. The day also brought Good Charlotte, joined by Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley for “Fat Lip” and “In Too Deep”.

Friday was another monumental day. Deftones returned for a hometown show and performed on the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Adrenaline. Dream Theater also celebrated its 40th anniversary through their performance. Lamb of God performed a live debut of their song “Sepsis”, and frontman Randy Blythe joined Lacuna Coil for “Hosting the Shadow”. The Dillinger Escape Plan’s reunion made for another unforgettable Friday moment.

The following day featured Korn’s headlining set, which included a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on “4 U”. It also marked their final tour date of 2025. Trivium added to the list of birthday bands, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Ascendancy with a full album performance.

GWAR’s 40th anniversary show took place on the final day of the festival. Sunday also featured Chimaira playing their first West Coast show in 11 years. The day was concluded by Bring Me The Horizon, with a stunning sci-fi set design.

Aftershock once again showed why it’s become the West Coast’s biggest hard rock and metal festival. Every year, the organizers seem to pull off something even bigger and better than the previous year, and with the rumors already starting to circulate about next year, it looks like the 2026 edition is not to be missed.” Said Consequence.

The album has been supported by many media outlets, including BrooklynVegan, CNN, Rolling Stone, Guitar World, and more, such as Kerrang!, who stated, “…the Celtic punk legends are in reeling, anthem-filled form, bolstered by their trademark gang vocal hooks. Ozzy Osbourne’s Last Rites Out October 7

“People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? I’m like, f*** no. If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I’d done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. Look, if it ends tomorrow, I can’t complain. I’ve been all around the world. Seen a lot of things. I’ve done good… and I’ve done bad. But right now, I’m not ready to go anywhere.” -Ozzy Osbourne, Last Rites.

Last Rites

Ozzy Osbourne’s influence is no secret; he was the godfather of metal, a multiple Grammy winner, and a two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. But aside from music, he was also a New York Times Bestselling Author with his books I Am Ozzy and Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy: Advice From Rocks Ultimate Survivor.

He felt that since the release of his first autobiography, I Am Ozzy, plenty of new life stories and memories had been created. He completed his second autobiography, Last Rites, just days before his passing in July.

Last Rites is a brutally honest, shocking, funny, unfiltered, and life-affirming story of the past seven or so years of his life. It covers his life and career, his marriage with Sharon Osbourne, and what led him back to the stage for the Back To The Beginning final concert. Last Rites is a must-read, filled with never-before-told stories from the King of Darkness himself.

The autobiography is available on October 7, and can be purchased here.

Jack Osbourne completed an interview about the book, which can be read below.

Q&A With Jack Osbourne

How did the idea for doing Last Rites come about?

JACK OSBOURNE (JACK): My father had been working on Last Rites for a very long time—chipping away at it over the last three or four years. He always felt he needed to do a follow-up to I Am Ozzy, because so much had happened in the 20 years since that book was released. From life after the TV show, to the Sabbath reunion, to releasing his last two albums, and finally his health issues. It was important to him to capture all of that.

Do you or other family members have favorites passages/anecdotes from the book?

JACK: If I’m being honest, not many of the family members have read the book yet—it’s been difficult time for everyone. For me, the last chapter is what I’ve reflected on the most. He finished it just a few days before he passed.

Throughout Last Rites Ozzy reflects on his early life with the insight gained as we grow older. Were there things that changed about him and the way he experienced the world towards the end of his life?

JACK: There’s a lot to reflect on with that question. My father was always considered the “wild man of rock,” the “Prince of Darkness,” and so on, but the last seven years were the complete opposite. Because of his injuries and declining health, he slowed down. And sometimes with a curse comes a blessing. Slowing down gave him the space to really reflect on his journey—his successes, his failures, his joys, his sadness and ultimately, what mattered most to him. This book captures some of that.

Do you recall any moments or conversations with Ozzy as he was working on the book—funny, touching, surprising—about the material he wanted to include or stories about working with a writer on the project?

JACK: He was very private about the process and didn’t share much about what he was including. I’d try to ask, but he’d often brush it off. I’ve often said this about my father, he was the most humble egomaniac you could ever meet. He honestly didn’t think anyone would care about what he was writing in Last Rites. So when I asked him, he always downplayed it.

It’s so clear from reading Last Rites that Ozzy loved his fans. Is there anything that didn’t make it into the book that you’d like for them to know?

JACK: Here’s the truth—my father fought a very hard fight to get on that stage in Birmingham on July 5. He was determined to say goodbye to his fans, and that’s exactly what he did. He loved them deeply because they gave him the life he had. He always said he would have been nothing without their love and support. That last show was his way of giving back one final time.

What do you think Ozzy would like readers to take away from the book?

JACK: My father would want people to smile, laugh, and feel love when they read it. He absolutely hated when people felt sorry for him. I know some fans will get emotional—it’s hard not to—but he couldn’t stand when people cried in front of him or got sad around him. So enjoy his words. Feel his energy. Remember who he will always be. And never stop loving him.

Megadeth Unveil First Single Off 2026 Album

The iconic thrash staple band has released the first single off their upcoming album, which is said to be their final.

Tipping Point

The band released “Tipping Point” to the world today. The song begins with a riff that quickly transitions into a guitar solo before Dave Mustaine’s distinct and iconic voice breaks through. It was released through Tradecraft, Mustaine’s imprint, in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label.

It is accompanied by a music video, which is desolate but hopeful. It is directed by Leonardo Liberti and features Mustaine trapped in an abandoned prison. He suffers through torture while the band performs in the same vicinity. While the music video is dark, Mustaine manages to escape at the end, running away from the prison.

“We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day,” says Mustaine. “I think we’re all being pushed to the edge right now, and it’s easy to lean into that feeling. But it’s important not to let things get you down.”

Self-Titled

The band’s 2026 self-titled album is said to be their last after Mustaine’s alter ego, Vic Rattlehead, posted a statement. “For over four decades, I’ve been chained in silence, but the end demands my voice. It is confirmed that the next Megadeth studio album will be the last. Forty years of metal, forged in steel, ending in fire. And when the new year rises, the global farewell tour. You’ve heard the warning. Now prepare yourself, Cyber Army. Stay loud, stay tuned, and meet me on the frontlines.”

Mustaine stated, “There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional, most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now. I have travelled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans, and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.” He continues “We can’t wait for you to hear this album and see us on tour. If there was ever a perfect time for us to put out a new album, it’s now. If there was ever a perfect time to tour the world, it’s now. This is also a perfect time for us to tell you that it’s our last studio album. We’ve made a lot of friends over the years, and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years.”

The album is available for pre-order here.

Megadeth has sold over 50 million records, received a Grammy Award along with 12 nominations, and has become part of the “big four”.

There will be more updates on the upcoming album, along with details for Mustaine’s upcoming memoir.

Ashnikko Drops Sizzling New Single “Wet Like” ft. COBRAH Ahead of Sophomore Album Smoochies

Los Angeles pop provocateur Ashnikko is back with a fierce new single. “Wet Like,” featuring Swedish artist COBRAH, lands today as the latest taste of her highly anticipated sophomore album, Smoochies, set for release October 17 via Parlophone/Warner Records. The track is an unapologetic collision of lust, power, and electronic heat engineered to dominate nightclubs and playlists alike.

On “Wet Like,” Ashnikko and COBRAH trade lines in a blunt, x-rated duet that pushes limits while reveling in pure fun. Ashnikko calls it “pure carnal lust and hedonism,” adding that it’s “music to stomp down the street to, eye-f*ck a stranger in the club to, music to top to.” The track lands alongside a string of recent singles, Smoochie Girl, Sticky Fingers, and Trinkets, each one building the world of Smoochies, an album that melds hyper-pop production with deeply personal, autobiographical lyrics.

Smoochies is a record made in response to a world that can feel hostile to femmes and marginalized communities. It’s playful, grotesque, explicit, tender, and defiant, Ashnikko taking up space on her own terms. “It’s sexy, playful, and feminine, while toeing the line of grotesque and absurd,” she explains. The album blends her signature hybrid-pop sound with a radical sense of autonomy, turning personal joy and whimsy into anthems for a generation unafraid to play loud and unapologetically.

To celebrate, Ashnikko is hitting the road on the Smoochies World Tour, kicking off in Warsaw in January 2026 and covering North America, Europe, and Australia with stops in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Sydney. Intimate pre-release shows in Birmingham and Leeds offer early glimpses of the record brought to life live.

With over 3.9 billion streams and 700 million video views to date, Ashnikko is proving that one album was only the beginning. Wet Like and Smoochies position her as a fearless, boundary-pushing force in pop, ready to turn arenas, clubs, and festivals into her playground.

Rocket Ignite With Debut Album R is for Rocket

Los Angeles’ Rocket are officially blasting off. Today, the band released their long-awaited debut album, R is for Rocket, via Transgressive Records and Canvasback, marking a stunning introduction for a group already being hailed as one of the most exciting guitar-forward acts to emerge from the West Coast in years.

Formed in 2021, Rocket — vocalist/bassist Alithea Tuttle, guitarists Baron Rinzler and Desi Scaglione, and drummer Cooper Ladomade — started in a humble shed, putting together songs that felt fully formed the moment they hit tape. Now, after years on the road opening for Ride, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Silversun Pickups, the band’s debut captures their evolution: jagged, fuzzed-out guitars, thunderous drums, and melodies that linger long after the last chord fades.

R is for Rocket moves between cathartic noise and melodic clarity, nodding to Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, and the anthemic ‘90s alt-rock that inspired them, while staking out its own distinctive territory. Standout tracks like “Wide Awake,” “Crossing Fingers,” and “Another Second Chance” showcase the band’s knack for marrying chaos with hooks that hit like lightning. The album also carries a deeply personal weight: it’s dedicated to Tuttle’s late father, whose image graces the cover, immortalized at the heart of the band’s first full-length statement.

The recording process matched the ambition. Scaglione produced the album, splitting sessions between the intimate vintage gear of Highland Park’s 64 Sound and the massive drum spaces at Foo Fighters’ Studio 606, balancing introspective textures with wide-screen alt-rock power. “Recording the second half of the album eight months after the first gave us a lot of time to think about what we were doing,” says Scaglione, while Tuttle credits touring with shaping the songs in real time.

Rocket hit the road this fall for their debut U.S. headline tour, including a special LA performance at Amoeba Hollywood on October 7, before heading overseas for a UK and European tour in early 2026. With R is for Rocket, the band have crafted a debut that’s both reverent to the past and bracingly fresh — a collection of jagged, hook-laden rock songs ready to stake their claim in the modern alt-rock canon.

R is for Rocket is out now.

Skip Marley Drops Fierce New Track “Cry Wolf”

Skip Marley is back with a new track that hits hard and speaks louder than ever. “Cry Wolf,” out today via Tuff Gong International/Def Jam, finds the Grammy-winning singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist staking his claim as a fearless voice for justice. The song, produced by KTOE and Kardinal, isn’t just another reggae jam — it’s a call to arms against injustice, propaganda, and the systemic forces Marley calls Babylon.

Written by Marley himself, “Cry Wolf” blends his family’s signature message of unity with a modern edge, layering roots rhythms with genre-bending production. Lines like “JAH give me resilience, so we bleed no more / Clothing for the naked, Feed the hungry, Feed the poor…” hit like a mission statement, echoing through the track’s pulsating grooves. It’s the kind of song that insists you pay attention, not just listen.

The release follows last month’s video for “In Our Sight,” filmed in Marley’s birthplace of Jamaica and directed by Aka.Ruppi. That visual saw him rallying a symbolic Jah army, bringing the lyrics to life with a sense of urgency and empowerment. Marley’s message is simple but firm: strength comes from unity and standing up for what’s right. “I want you to feel not defeated. I want you to feel like all things are possible through the powers of the Most High,” he says.

“Cry Wolf” continues that trajectory, cementing Skip Marley as a young firebrand who’s carrying the torch forward while speaking for the disenfranchised. The track is available everywhere now, and it’s a reminder that the Marley name still moves with purpose — politically, socially, and spiritually.

Snooper Drop Bold New Album Worldwide, Hit the Road With The Hives

Nashville’s own Snooper are back, and they’re louder, sharper, and weirder than ever. Today, the band released their highly anticipated second album, Worldwide, on Third Man Records, marking a bold step forward from the feral punk chaos of their 2023 debut. The release coincides with a hometown album release show tonight at Eastside Bowl, before Snooper head overseas to join The Hives for a European tour later this month.

The record’s first single, “Star 69,” arrives with a wild, Halloween-inspired video. Vocalist Blair Tramel explains, “‘Star 69’ is about calling out and hearing your own voice echo back. It can be terrifying or empowering, depending on the way you’re talking to yourself. It’s a reminder that what you put out comes back to you.” The clip pairs campy horror with the band’s signature intensity, a perfect snapshot of their evolution.

Formed by guitarist Connor Cummins and Tramel, Snooper have grown from DIY scene darlings to international underground tastemakers. Bassist Happy Haugen, drummer Brad Barteau, and guitarist Conner Sullivan round out the lineup. For Worldwide, the band teamed up with John Congleton, whose production credits include St. Vincent and Sharon Van Etten. Cummins says the sessions opened the door to experimentation and change, giving their sound newfound focus and daring.

While the band’s roots in guitar-driven punk remain intact, Worldwide stretches into rhythm-heavy repetition and melodic hooks, a natural progression from the drum-machine-driven beginnings of the project. The album blends raw intensity with Tramel’s earworm melodies, delivering 12 tracks of cathartic, unrelenting energy. Critics are already taking notice, with NPR calling Snooper “an incredible band… there’s so much to love about them,” and Bandcamp naming Worldwide their Album of the Day, praising its delirious weirdness as “more than a fun gimmick—it’s a manifesto.”

Snooper’s European tour kicks off October 16 in Oslo, with stops across Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal alongside The Hives. Back home, the band’s Eastside Bowl show tonight promises to showcase the ferocity and precision that have turned Snooper into one of the most compelling new acts in underground rock.

Green Day Revive Warning With Loaded 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

Twenty-five years ago, Green Day hit the brakes on pure punk fury and swerved into strange new territory. Warning, released in 2000, was the moment Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool traded some of their bratty bite for acoustic guitars, folk edges, and sharp, politically charged songwriting. The record split fans at the time, but it’s since been reclaimed as one of the band’s smartest and most underrated works. Now it’s getting the royal treatment.

On November 14, Green Day will drop Warning (25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition), a mammoth reissue stuffed with demos, B-sides, and a full-throttle 2001 live set from Tokyo’s SHIBUYA-AX. The deluxe package runs 49 tracks deep and comes in multiple formats, including a 5LP set pressed on Green Galaxy, Yellow Marble, and Orange Galaxy vinyl. Alongside the music, fans get a 24-page booklet, poster, patches, buttons, and even a bright yellow Warning construction sign if they spring for the indie version. The CD box packs in its own 32-page book and extras.

The band just teased the release with “Castaway (Demo),” a raw early cut that’s never been on streaming until now. It’s the kind of rough snapshot that shows where the band’s heads were at when they were shifting from punk chaos toward something stranger and more melodic.

The reissue puts the spotlight back on a record that gave us “Minority,” “Waiting,” and the title track, songs that still roar from stadium stages today. While Warning never sold like Dookie or American Idiot, it’s aged into a cult classic. Louder called it an “overlooked folk-punk gem,” while Stereogum recently ranked it near the top of Green Day’s discography, saying, “When the dust settles, Warning ends up being one of the best.”

Of course, Green Day aren’t just living in the past. They just wrapped the biggest tour of their career, tearing through 106 shows across 33 countries and selling more than 2.5 million tickets. Their latest single “One Eyed Bastard” just topped the Mediabase Alternative chart, making them the first band since 2003 to rack up four #1s there. It’s proof that even as they look back at Warning, the trio are still burning forward.

Warning (25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) arrives November 14. For a record once called “too weird” for Green Day, this reissue might finally cement its place as one of their most vital albums.

Noah Cyrus Pushes Deeper With Deluxe Edition of I Want My Loved Ones to Go With Me

Noah Cyrus has been carving out her own corner of Americana and country-folk, and she’s not slowing down. On October 10 she’ll release the deluxe edition of I Want My Loved Ones to Go With Me, an album that already proved she’s got more grit and gravity than most artists twice her age.

The expanded record adds three new cuts, including the raw and haunting single “If There’s a Heaven” with Stephen Wilson Jr., which just dropped today. There’s also a stripped-back demo of “Way of the World” and a reimagined “Love Is a Canyon” featuring Orville Peck, a perfect match for Cyrus’s dusky vocals.

The original album was already loaded with heavyweight collaborators like Bill Callahan, Fleet Foxes, Blake Shelton, Ella Langley — but Cyrus makes sure the spotlight stays on her. With pedal steel, banjo, mandolin, and cello weaving through her smoky delivery, the songs hit like campfire confessions one minute and wide-screen epics the next.

“For a long time, I couldn’t really trust in my own choices,” Cyrus admits. “But I’ve found who I am, I know who I am, and this record shows what I had inside me all this time.” You can hear that fight for identity all over Loved Ones, an album that feels as vulnerable as it does defiant.

Right now, Cyrus is taking that intensity to the stage on a sold-out North American tour, including a hometown stop at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium before wrapping October 24 in Phoenix.

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES
10/4 – Montreal, QC – MTELUS
10/5 – Toronto, ON – All Things Go Festival**
10/7 –  Boston, MA – House of Blues
10/8 –  Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Paramount

The deluxe edition of I Want My Loved Ones to Go With Me lands October 10. If the new single is any indication, Noah Cyrus is stepping further into the shadows and coming back louder, braver, and more dangerous than before.
