Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival Reveals Full Lineup after Record-Breaking Year

After becoming Columbus’s largest rock festival in history, Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival is set to return with a lineup filled with acclaimed artists. Reunions, farewells, and plenty of special moments are taking place at the 2026 edition, making it a must for fans of rock and heavy music.

Lineup Reveal

The official Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival lineup has been revealed. After previously announcing My Chemical Romance and Bring Me The Horizon, Sonic Temple is also proud to welcome Tool and Shinedown as headliners. Over the four days, 140 bands will be playing across the five stages, larger than ever before.

The festival takes place on May 14 through May 17 at the Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Aside from the legendary My Chemical Romance headlining the first day of the festival (Thursday), acclaimed acts include Pierce The Veil, Breaking Benjamin, Slaughter to Prevail, Behemoth, Dayseeker, and others.

The following day, headlined by Shinedown, features Staind, Halestorm, The Offspring, Simple Plan, and more. The Saturday lineup consists of Architects, Body Count (Featuring Ice-T), The Story So Far, and headliners, Bring Me The Horizon. The final day allows the fifth annual festival to finish strong, headlined by Tool, and supported by Godsmack, Lamb of God, Megadeth, and more.

Brent Smith of Shinedown stated, “Barry, Zach, Eric and I have waited for this opportunity to be a headliner at Sonic Temple for a very long time. We are going to go all out for this performance. We know the fans have very high expectations. So with that being said, we are going to give all of Ohio everything we’ve got!!!! Thank you to Danny Wimmer for this incredible opportunity!!! LET’S GO SHINEDOWN NATION.”

Special Moments

This year’s Sonic Temple brings many highlights and special appearances. Festival-goers can look out for reunions from Snot, Egypt Central, and Drop Dead, Gorgeous. Hawthorne Heights and Mushroomhead will also be delivering home-state performances.

Plenty of anniversaries will be taking place on the Sonic Temple stage as well. Flyleaf with Lacy Strum will be celebrating their 20th anniversary of their debut self-titled album. Along with this, DragonForce will be celebrating 20 years of Inhuman Rampage, and Salvia will pay tribute to 25 years of Every Six Seconds. Don’t You Fake It by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will also be turning 20, and the band is planning to celebrate through their performance at Sonic Temple.

Body Count, featuring Ice-T, will be making their festival debut this year, while Megadeth and Sepultura will be saying goodbye with Sonic Temple as a stop on their farewell tours. Coal Chamber will make a rare appearance. Anberlin will also provide an exclusive performance, reunited with their original singer, Stephen Christian.

Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival 2026 is a year packed with once-in-a-lifetime performances and experiences.

Visual Art

Art has always been a crucial part of the festival. The onsite art boutique, art towers, and art walls are set to return in 2026, bringing in large-scale installations and interactive pieces. The contemporary American painter Terry Urban, known for his pop-meets-street style, and illustrator and cartoonist Jay Howell, the mastermind behind Bob’s Burgers and Sanjay and Craig, will add a playful feel to the festival grounds.

The festival will also be putting a focus on celebrating the creativity that thrives within the city. A curated array of Columbus-based artists will be featured, filling Historic Crew Stadium with live mural painting and exclusive artwork.

Festival Grounds

This year aims to make the festival grounds as immersive as possible. They will be adding onto the vibrant art displays and loud music with the return of Caduceus Wine Garden. Owned by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, it features selections from Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards.

The Dive Bar, a fan favorite hangout spot, will also return by popular demand. Festival-goers can look forward to pop-up performances and surprise appearances, making it a must-visit.

Freestyle

Fox Lake is known for putting a new spin on what hardcore can look and feel like. Their energetic live performances and emotional depth put listeners in the world of each song they write. Now they have taken their boundary-pushing nature a step further with their collaboration with Phase One.

“Freestyle” (Phase One Remix) is available for streaming now via Sounds of Mayhem and can be found here

“Freestyle” was originally a track from their recent album New World Heat, released August 1, 2025. New Noise Magazine reviewed the album, stating, “They’re writing a new script for a full-length feature that’s entirely their own. After stripping back everything that didn’t feel like authentically Fox Lake, New World Heat is all killer, no filler. Rapid-fire riffs. Relentless tempos. Uncompromising lyricism. It’s high-octane hardcore, turned up to 11.”

New World Heat is available here.

New Miserable Experience (Members of Revocation, Rosetta, Rivers of Nihil) Reveal “Payback From God” Video

New Miserable Experience has released a taste of their upcoming album, coming paired with a dark music video.

“Payback From God” Single Art

Payback From God

The alternative synth-rock band, New Miserable Experience, has released their newest single, “Payback From God”.

“Payback From God” offers a first look at their upcoming album. It is true to their signature sound. With its confessional lyrics, the vocals are surrounded by synths and a driving percussion, contributing to a dreamy atmosphere that still keeps the listener grounded.

“Payback From God” can be found here.

The accompanying music video creates a dark and almost occult atmosphere, with flashing scenes of cemeteries, animal bones, fire, and more. The scenes are stitched together by clips of the vocalist in a hallway, lit by a small square light behind him.

Their upcoming album, Gild the Lily, will be available via Pelagic Records on January 23.

New Miserable Experience

The band began as a file-trading collaboration between former Rosetta member David Grossman and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Mahesh Kost, from Model Prisoner. Now, the band has expanded to include Rosetta drummer Bruce “B.J.” McMurtrie Jr., Revocation bassist Brett Bamberger, and Rivers of Nihil guitarist Brody Uttley.

Each member brings their own unique experience and style, creating the mix that is New Miserable Experience. They work to blend groove and tension, making for a unique and emotional experience.

Natalie Jane Plots Global Takeover with the world i didn’t want Tour

Natalie Jane is taking her heartbreak around the world. Fresh off the release of her sophomore album the world i didn’t want (via Capitol Records/10K Projects), the rising pop powerhouse has announced an international tour of the same name.

Kicking off in Seattle on February 27, the run hits major cities across North America, including Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta, before heading overseas for a stretch of UK and European dates. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, October 30 at 10 a.m. local time, with artist presales launching tomorrow.

The tour follows a banner year for Jane, who’s racked up over 2 billion global streams and earned a spot on GRAMMY.com’s “25 Rising Artists To Watch.” Her viral anthems “girls will b girls,” “r u gonna love me?,” and “fallin” have cemented her as one of pop’s most emotionally raw new voices, while collaborations like the Loud Luxury cut “UH-OH!” show her knack for a dance-floor hook.

With the world i didn’t want, Natalie Jane dives deeper into heartbreak, healing, and self-reflection, and now, she’s ready to bring that energy to the stage.

PinkPantheress Summons JT for a Halloween Surprise in “Noises”

PinkPantheress just dropped a treat for spooky season, and it’s as hauntingly chic as you’d expect. The British alt-pop star unveiled her new music video for “Noises (with JT),” featuring City Girls’ JT, right in time for Halloween. Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the video follows PinkPantheress as she preps for a night out before getting possessed by the spirit of Halloween itself, embodied by JT.

The track appears on Fancy Some More?, a reimagined version of her Mercury Prize-shortlisted mixtape Fancy That, which arrived earlier this month. The project packs a massive lineup of collaborators, including Kylie Minogue, Kaytranada, Sugababes, Basement Jaxx, Ravyn Lenae, and SEVENTEEN, all putting their own spin on PinkPantheress’ genre-warping sound.

“I wanted to explore how the songs can live in different worlds while still holding onto the emotion of the original,” PinkPantheress said of the remix collection. “Each remix brings a new energy and texture, while still keeping the heart of the track intact.”

The Halloween drop lands in the middle of her sold-out An Evening With PinkPantheress North American tour, which kicked off with two nights in Brooklyn and continues through Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles before wrapping up in the Bay Area.

PinkPantheress is set to make her Coachella debut in 2026, followed by a headlining slot at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound. Until then, she’s proving that every era, even the spooky ones, belongs to her.

Volbeat hit record-breaking twelfth No. 1 with “Time Will Heal”

The reign continues. Volbeat have just scored their twelfth No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart with their latest single, “Time Will Heal.”

The Danish rock titans already held the record for the most No. 1s by any artist based outside North America, and this new milestone only widens that gap. The achievement follows “By a Monster’s Hand,” which topped the charts earlier this year, and adds yet another win to the band’s unstoppable streak.

Both tracks appear on Volbeat’s ninth studio album, God of Angels Trust, released June 6 via Universal. The record has been praised for blending the band’s signature mix of melodic hooks, thrash grit, and rockabilly swagger into their most cinematic sound yet.

After wrapping a massive U.S. tour, Volbeat are currently headlining shows across the UK and Europe on The Greatest of All Tours Worldwide. Tour dates and tickets for said tour are currently available here.

From small clubs in Copenhagen to chart domination, Volbeat continue to carve out a legacy built on riffs, resilience, and records… literally.

“Time Will Heal” is out now on all streaming platforms. Watch the music video below or grab a copy of God of Angels Trust here.

AVOID announce new EP Creature of Habit, share “Sour Apple” visualizer

Seattle heavy-hitters AVOID have officially announced their next chapter. Their upcoming EP, Creature of Habit, arrives November 14 via UNFD, marking a new era of chaos, energy, and emotional release.

To celebrate, the band dropped a visualizer for their latest single, “Sour Apple.” Vocalist Benny Scholl shared that the track’s title started as a joke before taking on deeper meaning. “There was a Sour Apple-flavored vape in the room when we were working on the demo,” Scholl says. “The song’s about reflecting on the past and letting go, but also being upset when things don’t go your way. In a way, kind of being a ‘Sour Apple’ about things sometimes, and we realized the name ended up representing the song perfectly.”

The Creature of Habit EP packs six tracks, including “Sour Apple,” “The Song of the Summer,” and “Over Now.” The band’s signature mix of anthemic hooks, sharp-edged riffs, and reckless fun is all here, loud, unfiltered, and ready to tear through speakers.

AVOID are also hitting the road this fall, joining Belmont for a full U.S. run that kicks off November 6 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and wraps December 12 in Chicago, Illinois.

Known for their tongue-in-cheek energy and anything-goes attitude (“What if Dale Earnhardt, Guy Fieri, and Steve-O started a Spinal Tap cover band?” as they put it), AVOID continue to embody the wild, communal spirit of heavy music. With Creature of Habit, they’re proving that fun, chaos, and heart can still coexist in rock.

Creature of Habit is out November 14 via UNFD. Watch the “Sour Apple” visualizer below and grab pre-orders here.

We Were Just Here

The band’s new album, WE WERE JUST HERE, will be available this Friday via Partisan and is available for pre-order here.

The album features the iconic Just Mustard elements that fans have come to love: warped guitars, a twisted sound design, and beautiful, dreamy atmospheres. However, this time they have expanded their reach to a warmer and yet more haunting path. There are interludes of speech and noise, voice memos, and pieces of demos, all working to explore the themes of grief and longing.

Mei Semones Releases Two New Singles

Mei Semones is known for her unique sound and unquestionable musical ability. “Mei Semones has carved out a new frontier in indie-rock, tearing through bossa nova ballads with the infectious urgency of a rafters-rousing guitar hero.” Says Pitchfork.

Her recent single, “Itsumo”, follows her critically acclaimed debut album Animaru, which has received praise from FLOOD, Consequence, Brooklyn Vegan, and more. Now, continuing her momentum, she has gifted the world with two brand new singles.

Kurayami/Get Used To It

“Kurayami” comes paired with a music video filmed in Japan and directed by Takuto Shimpo. It circles between shots of the song being performed and aesthetic clips of water.

Semones explains, “‘Kurayami’ means ‘darkness’ in Japanese, and this song is about growing up in Michigan and reminiscing on what it was like hanging out with my friends. Being a kid was really fun and I was happy, but I remember there was a point where we started to lose our innocence and I think this song is about that feeling. It’s one of the more technically difficult songs I’ve written, and it took some practice to get to the point where I could sing and play it at the same time. There’s lots of fun tempo changes, odd meters, wide interval arpeggios, and fast licks, and I think the band arrangement is really creative too.”

“Get Used To It” is, “about the beauty in solitude and being alone, how to move on from something that was important in your life but still leave space for it, and my love for the guitar and music. It’s the second song I wrote on my nylon string, and the changes and melody are somewhat inspired by Thelonious Monk.” Semones continues, “The instrumentation is more minimal than our other songs — just me (guitar & vox), upright bass, and drums. We were going for a live jazz trio sound, so there’s not really any layers or anything. It’s just a straightforward recording of the 3 of us playing the tune, and I think that was the best way to capture the feeling behind the song.”

The songs are available for pre-order on 7” and are out now on all streaming platforms. It can be found here

Later this month, Semones will be taking the stage at the New York Night Club’s 101 as part of Bayonet Records’ 10th Anniversary Party. She will also be playing Winter Jazzfest at the beginning of the new year. Tour dates can be found below.

Second Harbour Sign to SharpTone Records & Share New Single

SharpTone has welcomed the Canadian post-hardcore trio Second Harbor to its global roster.

The band stated, “We’re honored to be a part of the SharpTone family. They’re home to some of our favorite bands, and they’ve welcomed us with the most open arms. To have a team as passionate about our band as we are is an absolute dream. We truly couldn’t be happier.”

Relative

The signing announcement comes paired with “Relative”, a brand new single from the trio. “Right as we wrapped ‘Relative,’ we knew it’d be the EP opener,” shares John Muggianu. “It’s everything we wanted out of our first track. It’s urgent, it’s vicious, and more than anything, it’s unrelenting.”

The single comes with a music video, featuring a band delivering an energetic performance in a room surrounded by a white curtain.

Coalesce

“Relative” is the opening track to their upcoming EP Coalesce, which releases on December 12 and is available for pre-order here.

Vincent Morency states, “We had a lot to prove with this EP. To the world, absolutely, but to ourselves even more so. We didn’t want to come out with what’d been done before, or worse, what we’d done before. In the past, we’d always felt concerned about assimilating into the scene, and writing songs that fit into whatever sub-genre we were a part of.”

He continues, “This time around, equipped with everything we’d learned through our past releases, we felt it high time we took the swings we always wanted to. So we did just that. We came out swinging. Our title track is four-and-a-half minutes long, our third track has both the happiest and heaviest parts we’ve ever written, and our main single has so many lyrics, we need a permit for them. We took these swings and left the studio more confident than ever in the work we’d done. This collection of songs is Second Harbour. Coalesce IS Second Harbour.”
