The Smashing Pumpkins Join Yungblud on New Version of GRAMMY-Nominated Hit “Zombie”

Yungblud has teamed up with rock legends The Smashing Pumpkins on a reimagined version of his GRAMMY®-nominated hit “Zombie,” marking the first time the iconic band has featured on another artist’s recording. Produced by Billy Corgan and Matt Schwartz, the collaboration fuses Yungblud’s raw modern energy with the Pumpkins’ signature guitar textures, creating a heavier, more urgent take on the already fan-beloved track. The official music video, directed by Charlie Sarsfield, premiered today.

The partnership traces back to last July, when Yungblud and Corgan crossed paths at Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in Birmingham. Corgan, who first discovered Yungblud years earlier, praised his talent and trajectory, calling him “a star for the next 50 years.” The meeting ultimately led to the collaboration, with Yungblud describing the experience as “one of the greatest honors” of his career.

“Zombie” originally appeared on Yungblud’s GRAMMY®-nominated album IDOLS, which has solidified him as one of modern rock’s defining voices. With billions of global streams, sold-out tours, and multiple GRAMMY® nods across all major rock categories, Yungblud continues to bridge generational gaps in the genre. The reimagined track arrives ahead of his sold-out North American tour, which kicks off May 1, 2026, and includes arena dates spanning the U.S. and Canada.

With this landmark collaboration, Yungblud not only honors his influences but cements his place in rock’s evolving legacy, proving that the next generation can carry forward the torch while making it entirely their own.
