The experimental pop visionary, SPELLLING, released her fifth album, Portrait of My Heart, earlier this year. The album, containing “some of the most catchy indie pop to come out of the Bay Area this century” (Treble), has been incredibly well-received by fans and critics alike. It has received praise from many publications, including NPR Music, The Needle Drop, Brooklyn Vegan, Stereogum, San Francisco Chronicle, KQED, and PAPER Magazine, who stated,  “This album…isn’t a study, but a portrait — an interpretation of a person at a time and place. It’s an exploration of a heart — one that is breaking, beating, breathing life into the entire body.”

Among the hard-hitting avant-pop songs is “Destiny Arrives”, which has now been reimagined.

Destiny Arrives

The new version of the mystical album staple features Weyes Blood, a project of Natalie Mering. Mering commented, “The strange fantastical universe Tia’s built under the moniker SPELLLING has always captivated me, and when she asked me to sing on ‘Destiny Arrives’ I was there for the ride.”

SPELLLING also commented on the collaboration, stating, “Weyes Blood has been a dream artist to collaborate with for a long time now. I’m so honored to have her timeless voice on this reimagined version of ‘Destiny Arrives.’ She stepped into the song so gracefully and added such an epic glow to the feeling of the song through her own lyrical contribution and very intimate interpretation of the song.”
