Trivium has received critical acclaim, major publication praise, and a Grammy nomination. Known for their iconic sound and energetic live shows, they have now released new self-produced music. The band also begins their North American tour for the new EP tonight (October 31).
Struck Dead
Trivium has unveiled their three-song EP Struck Dead. The new EP is available via their longtime label, Roadrunner Records, and can be found here.
The release comes with a music video for the EP’s title track, directed by Black Card Films. The video matches the song’s intensity, featuring the band performing in various lighting. The use of color in the lighting makes for an immersive visual experience, matching the energy of their live show.
The EP was produced by the band themselves and recorded with Mark Lewis at the band’s Hangar Studios in Orlando, Florida. Josh Wilbur took on the role of mixing the collection of songs.
Trivium bassist, Paolo Gregoletto, spoke on the creation of the EP, stating, “In August 2023, we set out to design and build our own studio at The Hangar — a place to create freely, on our own terms.”
Through this process, the band decided to see what was next: “Born from months of revisiting and performing Ascendancy in full, this EP channels that familiar power and spirit while pushing into new territory,” he continues. “We feel that Struck Dead stands as the first step into a bold new era for us and we happy to finally share it with all of you.”
